The San Diego Seals announced today that the team has agreed to terms with goaltender Frank Scigliano on a two-year deal.
“We’re very excited to have Frank back for the next two years,” said General Manager and Head Coach Patrick Merrill. “He’s entering his prime window for goaltenders in the NLL and we believe he is ready to take the next step to becoming one of the best in the game. He’s been the backbone of our team for the first two seasons and he’s very highly regarded by his teammates.”
Scigliano, 28, has appeared in 28 games in Seals history registering 985 saves, 11.90 goals against average and .777 save percentage. The British Columbia native recorded career-highs in 2018-19 in wins (10) and saves (707), and started every game for San Diego in the team’s inaugural season. Scigliano was selected by the Seals in the 2018 NLL Expansion Draft from the Calgary Roughnecks, where he spent the first seven seasons of his career.
“I am thrilled to be in San Diego for another two years,” said Scigliano. “We’ve built a brotherhood in the room. I’m excited for the opportunity to compete for a championship for the fans in San Diego and I can’t wait to get back on the floor.”
