The San Diego Seals announced today that the team has signed a pair of free agents, transition player Tyler Garrison and goaltender Skylar Whinery.
Garrison, 28, is a five-year NLL veteran who inked a one-year deal. The speedy transition player has appeared in 48 career games, registering 198 loose balls, 75 caused turnovers and 42 points. As a rookie in 2013, Garrison recorded his first career two-goal game in the NLL Championship Game. The 6-2, 200-pound righty was selected 11th overall in the 2012 NLL Entry Draft.
Whinery, 22, played two seasons in the Colorado Collegiate Box Lacrosse League, registering 243 saves and a .769 save percentage in 18 games. He was awarded the 2019 CCBLL Coaches Award after his team won the league championship. The 6-1, 220-pound goalie was a team captain at Texas State, stopping 281 shots in 27 career games with the Bobcats. He signed a two-year contract with the Seals.
