(SAN DIEGO, CA – September 25, 2019) – The San Diego Seals announced today that the team has signed defenseman Devyn Mayea to a two-year deal and goaltender Brandon Humphrey to a one-year deal, pending league approval.
Mayea, 21, was selected by the Seals in the second round (28th overall) of the 2019 NLL Entry Draft. The 6-4, 210-pound defenseman registered 43 points and 186 penalty minutes in 54 career games with the Burlington Chiefs (Ontario Junior A Lacrosse Association). He posted career-highs in 2019 with the Chiefs in goals (8), assists (13) and points (21).
Humphrey, 23, has appeared in seven games with the Maple Ridge Burrards (Western Lacrosse Association) since 2018. The Calgary, Alberta native posted an 11.46 GAA and 0.775 sv%. With three goals allowed on 57 shots, Humphrey was named Player of the Game for the Calgary Mountaineers during game one of the 2016 Minto Cup.
