The San Diego Seals are proud to announce the broadcast team for their inaugural season. Jon Schaeffer will call games as the team’s play-by-play announcer, while former NLL general manager Doug Locker will serve as the color analyst. Tauli Anderson will take the reins on the field as the sideline reporter.
“We’re excited to have such a great broadcast team for the inaugural season in San Diego,” said president Steve Govett. “Jon has a strong background in play-by-play, and we are thrilled he even has NLL experience. Doug brings a unique perspective and a leaguebased institutional knowledge to the broadcast.”
Schaeffer is an accomplished TV and radio sports broadcaster who has appeared nationally on CBS Sports Network, FOX College Sports, ESPN GamePlan and ESPN3, and regionally on SNY, Root Sports Pittsburgh, MASN and CSN Mid-Atlantic. His on-air work has received acclaim as he was named a “Best Broadcaster Prospect Nominee” by Baseball America in 2016.
Doug Locker served as a general manager in the National Lacrosse League for ten years and was named the 2013 NLL General Manager of the Year. Under his direction, his club won the 2010 NLL Championship and reached the title game in 2011 and 2013. A 15-year NLL executive, Locker was chairman of the NLL Competition Committee. Additionally, he was the general manager for the San Francisco Dragons (2005-2008), director of athletics at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA (2002-2005), and head lacrosse coach at Whittier College (1984-2002).
Anderson was born and raised in Las Vegas and studied broadcast journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno. Anderson has experience working for NFL Network, TMZ Sports and FOX Sports.
