The National Lacrosse League (NLL) and the Professional Lacrosse Players’ Association (PLPA) jointly announced on Saturday that the parties have agreed to a five-year collective bargaining agreement, allowing training camps to open next weekend.
With the resolution, the San Diego Seals will open the season in Denver against the Colorado Mammoth on Sat., Dec. 22. The Seals’ home-opener is on Sat., Jan. 12 at 7:00pm PST against the Rochester Knighthawks.
“We’re thrilled to open training camp on Friday, and to bring a great sports and entertainment product to San Diego,” said Seals president Steve Govett. “The countdown to Opening Night is on!”
The labor dispute resulted in the cancellation of the first two weeks of the season. In the near future, the NLL will announce its plan to create a balanced schedule for all teams.
